Yet another car crash outside the Coach & Horses pub on the A27 at Durrington. The landlord says the road is dangerous (The Argus, January 30) but I disagree.
I have driven along this road for the past 25 years without ever once careering into other vehicles but then I drive at the appropriate speeds for the conditions.
Every day I see drivers using mobile phones, listening to deafening music or lighting cigarettes.
They view their cars as a mobile home so no wonder they drive into trees, buildings and other stationary objects.
A good proportion of drivers have bad eyesight yet they operate vehicles which can travel up to 100mph. Unless having a driving licence becomes a real privilege instead of an inalienable right then we must expect this carnage on our roads to continue.
