The Krater Comedy Club on Friday was a rip-roaring laugh a minute experience right from the off. Resident compere Stephen Grant, as always, did an expert job of warming up the crowd before unleashing the sharp wit of Carey Marx on them.
Marx may have come across as a slightly inebriated, simple chap with an unusual preoccupation with albinos but that was all part of his charm. He quickly had the audience roaring with laughter at some of the most un-PC jokes ever.
Next up was the more laidback but equally funny Dan Evans. He regaled the crowd with tales of his puppy dying because he forgot to increase the size of his collar as he grew bigger.
Last on stage was the superb Junior Simpson, who has been a stalwart of the comedy circuit for a number of years. The energy he displayed on stage was phenomenal and he had the crowd crying with laughter.
Nothing was off limits as Simpson got into his stride - foreign accents, television and even "breasties" as he called them.
All in all, this was a night of fantastic comedy.
