I am getting bored with the continuous deluge of anti-smoking propaganda which is beginning to take up valuable legislative time in Parliament - time our Government could find so many other uses for.
Remember, many so-called statistics relating to alleged deaths from smoking are the work of health professionals, whose jobs rely upon persuading us tobacco is the most harmful drug and who are being used in the continuing erosion of our freedoms.
In the Sixties and Seventies, smoking was blamed for illnesses which often had their roots in other causes, such as poor housing and poverty.
And don't forget how successful the prohibition of alcohol was in the US in the Twenties. I am anticipating the opening of the first "smokeasies" soon, legal or not.
