An alt-country singer songwriter conjuring shades of Gram Parsons and Nick Drake, Bruntnell produced something of a cult classic in 1999 in the form of his third album, Normal For Bridgewater, a moving blend of blues, folk and pop.
Having since quietly established himself as one of the country's most accomplished solo talents, the man who described his guitar exploits as little more than a hobby before finding inspiration in the work of Neil Young has mysteriously failed to match his critical acclaim with commercial success.
Piercingly beautiful and lyrically adept, new album Ghost In A Spitfire is delivered with emotion-tinged smokiness. The smell of campfires and cider permeates the chords.
Starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £8, call 01273 325440.
