MP Lawes is certainly not an accountant (Letters, November 5).

He claims ticket prices will have to rise 56 per cent to reach the Albion's target turnover, based on home attendances of 12,000.

The definition of turnover is the amount of money a business takes.

Ticket sales are by no means the sole income of a football club. There is also club sponsorship, merchandise, TV revenue and match-day sales, including food and drink.

It is unwise to speculate on how much a ticket will cost without first seeing the figures.

Claims like MP Lawes' are bound to cause unrest, which is best avoided - unless that was the intention.
