I was disgusted to read funding for St Patrick's night shelter for the homeless is being withdrawn (Letters, October 25).
The shelter is yards from a betting shop. Just a small percentage of the profits donated from this establishment (which could be written off for tax purposes) could help maintain the shelter.
Or couldn't enough money come from the National Lottery, which was set up to help good causes?
