The benefit of art to health is indisputable - evidence of this is widely available.
Your article "NHS having art attack" appeared on the day the Brighton and Hove Arts and Health Partnership hosted an arts and health event (The Argus, October 26).
The objective of the event was to promote more arts and health activity in hospitals, in other social care settings and in the community.
This is not an issue of money wasted on art. It is an issue of insufficient recognition of and investment in the transformative and healing power of art.
Art can promote health, speed recovery and, in the long term, save the NHS money.
