Lewes went top of Conference south with a 3-0 win at Bishop's Stortford but manager Steven King is refusing to get too excited.

He said: "It is a great feeling to be top of the league but I know it is going to change hands a lot over the next few weeks.

"Welling have two games in hand over us and are level on points so they will soon be back up there.

"The important thing from our point of view was to get the win to make sure they didn't extend their lead further."

Rooks took the lead on 52 minutes thanks to a spectacular own goal by Ben Lewis, who lobbed his own keeper from the edge of the box.

Jean-Michel Sigere doubled the advantage from the penalty spot after Lewis had been sent off for stamping on the Lewes striker.

The Frenchman continued his goalscoring form to seal the win in the last minute.

Bognor continued their poor run of form as they went down 1-0 at home to title-chasing Farnborough.

Rocks, who have won once in their last six league games, conceded a 23rd-minute strike by Warren McBean to slip to 12th place.

Crawley Town have cancelled the contract of striker Danny Davidson.

Davidson was signed from Stafford Rangers in July 2004, penning a two-year deal, but was unable to turn full-time with Crawley in the summer.

He had appeared just twice this season and is expected to sign for a club in his native Midlands.
