Albion striker Leon Knight has been threatened with the axe for tomorrow's trip to Stoke.
Manager Mark McGhee is considering leaving Knight out after his performance and reaction to being substituted in Tuesday's 1-1 home draw with Wolves.
Knight snubbed McGhee as he trudged off and sat at the opposite end of the dugout after Jake Robinson took his place in the second half.
McGhee revealed today: "I wasn't happy with the way Leon left the field but I don't think there was a single person in the ground who disagreed with my decision."
Asked if the incident would have any impact on team selection tomorrow, McGhee said: "Yes, definitely. It means I will consider whether he shouldn't start.
"He came off because of his performance. I judged he was the one to come off and as a result of his performance and then when he came off I'll consider whether he should be in the team or not."
Knight is not alone in incurring the wrath of McGhee ahead of the trip to the Potteries.
He was also riled by remarks made on TV by Stoke assistant Jan De Koning after travelling to the Ricoh Arena with No. 2 Bob Booker on Wednesday night for a first-hand view of City's 2-1 win over Coventry.
"Their assistant manager said after the game on Sky that they now have games that are winnable, so they obviously see us as easy.
"I hope we can disappoint them because he has obviously not watched us. I think it will be a difficult game but if we play as well as we have in recent games then we can give them some problems.
"They are not as big and strong as the Stoke sides I have seen in recent years. Nonetheless, they have still got a physical element to them which could maybe overpower us if we are not careful, so we have to go there and beat them at football."
On-loan Southampton goalkeeper Alan Blayney is looking forward to only his second game of the season following Wayne Henderson's return to Aston Villa.
Blayney, who played in the 2-2 home draw with Coventry in September, said: "Hopefully I can do as well as Wayne did. He was fantastic.
"This first game is really important for me to get off to a good start. I've been training really hard and I just want to get out there and get on with it."
Stoke skipper Michael Duberry returns from a ban in place of Gerry Taggart and they could recall on-loan West Ham winger Luke Chadwick if he recovers from a groin injury which has ruled him out of the last two matches.
