It's been a great year for Turin Brakes' fans.
First we were treated to an intimate acoustic performance of their new album Jack In A Box downstairs at Audio back in June and now this!
Olly and Gale were supposed to play the Dome Concert Hall which doesn't normally lend itself to their "sitting on stools, strumming guitars" style of performance.
So, the last- minute change of venue to the beautiful and acoustically stunning St George's Church felt nothing short of a miracle.
Never had I seen the boys look so at home as they did bathed in the festive glow of twinkling fairy lights and watched down upon by Christ on the cross.
Haloed by an enormous stained-glass window, it would be hard to find a more perfect venue to experience Turin Brake's modern-day hymns.
The holy atmosphere did give songs such as They Can't Buy The Sunshine and Fishing For A Dream a slightly Sunday School edge but thankfully no tamborines were involved.
Playing with Brighton bass player Eddie (who also plays sitting down) and two amazing session musicians on keyboards and drums, the band floated out an incredibly tight set which truly soared to celestial heights.
Their new Red Moon EP is out now.
