Before my son Danny Hall's funeral, I criticised the police for intervening in our funeral arrangements.
I like to think I am a man who can admit when he has made a mistake and I did make a mistake. My son's funeral went smoothly and, with the help of the weather, it was a beautiful send-off.
I was wrong to criticise the police. Without their help, professionalism and expertise, it could have been a totally different story.
I want to take this opportunity to publicly thank the police for their time and help in making my son's funeral run smoothly.
Thank you also to all who made the effort to come on the day - you showed me what a truly liked and respected guy my son was.
I am sorry to those whose lives may have been disrupted in some way because they had to stop to let us past - it really was only a few minutes out of your lives.
-Danny Hall, nr Bognor Regis
