It was with an ironic smile that I read the article in which the new principal of Northbrook College spoke of his commitment to education in the Adur district (The Argus, October 8).
That must be why it has closed our local adult education office at the Community Centre, one consequence of which has been that people who pay their bills in cash now have to trek to Goring, often those on benefits or low incomes.
This must also be why we no longer have a local brochure but one covering all areas, in which it is impossible to understand what the exact fees are anyway, although it is evident they have risen an enormous amount - far more than those of West Sussex Adult Education Department or Portslade College.
In fact, I fail to see where Northbrook's commitment is.
