What a disappointment to read of the collapse of David Courtney's four-year dream to build a monorail on Brighton seafront (The Argus, October 19).
Mr Courtney said the Brighton and Hove City Council backed out and let him down.
A mist appears when the council starts talking about city transport. The city's future lies with monorails - one from Brighton Station to the seafront, another along the seafront to the marina and one from the marina to Hove Lagoon.
The city is crying out for customers. Go shopping in Eastbourne, Horsham or Crawley and there are huge car parks. You drive in, park and pay a reasonable charge.
It's a long drawn-out procedure in Brighton, where the council is strangling the business community.
The council's rush to build flats in the clouds makes you think, why not car parks?
-Councillor Peter Willows, Hangleton and Knoll ward
