The number of accidents in Mill Road, Patcham, is nothing new.
In the Sixties, I worked as a petrol-pump attendant at the Robin Hood garage, London Road.
One night, a Sunbeam Talbot was pushed on to the forecourt covered in mud and grass.
The occupants said they had been coming down Mill Road (probably too fast) when they rolled sideways down a bank and ended up with the car on its roof.
After turning it over, they had pushed it to the garage.
It was filled with petrol, washed and was able to drive off without damage to the car or its occupants.
