I read the article entitled "Battle to save field left for children" (The Argus, October 21), about a recreation ground next to Stafford House, Hassocks. Keeping it would not only benefit children but adults as well.
In 1979, when I lived in Hove, I attended a course called new horizons.
One weekend, we stayed at Stafford House. I was studying photography at the time and took some photos from the recreation ground.
It was beautiful then. If it is still the same, I can see why Mr Stafford left it for the use of children. It would be a disaster to build houses on it.
Everyone needs spacious, green land to enable peace.
