We back the campaign by Steve and Kay Stevens to prevent a sex shop opening in Rowlands Road by 100 per cent.
There is little demand for such a shop, as shown by previous ones in Worthing, which have since closed.
The vast majority of people do not want such a shop in their neighbourhood for all the reasons already mentioned in your newspaper (The Argus, October 17 and 24).
Although it won't attract many people, those it does will be undesirable and it will promote the wrong kind of sex.
The effect of the shop will mean women and children will be at greater risk of attack, ultimately requiring more policing.
It is also likely to increase the number of teenage pregnancies, which are already causing great distress to thousands of young people.
Please listen to the overwhelming majority, not the minority.
-Mr and Mrs Emerson, Worthing
