I was saddened to read the news that Lucy Fensom's Safe Haven for Donkeys in the Holy Land (SHADH), in Israel, has been vandalised (The Argus, October 19).
I would like to ask readers who are concerned about these poor beasts of burden to give generously to this wonderful woman's charity, as I have done for years.
She gave up a lucrative lifestyle in the UK as a flight attendant to rescue these animals - something most of us, myself included, are far too selfish to do.
If they felt strongly enough, readers could set up a standing order to allow her to continue the good work she and her family are undertaking.
