Family and friends of a man with Down's syndrome who was grilled about his income say they have received no apology.
Jeffrey Ditch, 38, was questioned for half an hour at the job centre in Boundary Road but his carers say staff should have realised he has only basic comprehension.
His sister Sandra, 47, who cares for him full-time, said: "We've had no word from them at all. They also haven't let me have a copy of the statement they made him sign."
Mr Ditch, of North Lane, Portslade, was left distressed and tearful after the interview.
Dave Bonwick, 67, acts as Mr Ditch's chaperone and said he had explained Mr Ditch's condition to staff at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) headquarters.
He accompanied Mr Ditch to the Boundary Road job centre when a letter came calling him in for an interview and was furious when he was taken away and questioned alone.
Mr Ditch has a mental age of about 11. He receives a severe disabled allowance, a disability living allowance and some income support.
The DWP has said it does not comment on individual cases.
