Top scorer Steve Parillon is causing Genesis Brighton Bears some concern ahead of their big cup awayday.
Bears made it two BBL Trophy wins from two against EBL opposition when they came through 102-89 at London United last night.
Parillon chipped in with 18 points, despite a sore hamstring which looks like hampering him in tomorrow's BBL Cup quarter-final at Chester (5.30pm).
Bears coach Nick Nurse said: "Steve played last night and he did pretty well but he is nowhere near 100 per cent. He's about 50 per cent."
Last night's win was not without its scares. Bears trailed 58-53 at the half and 84-80 after three quarters.
They were still 89-85 down in the third minute of the final period but then their defence slammed shut, denying United for more than six minutes leading up to the final buzzer.
Veteran Pete Deppisch had seven three-pointers in the first half for United and finished with 29 points but Nurse said: "We finally shut him down and I think our defence wore into them.
"They are a good side. They got a nice lead in the third quarter and we didn't look like changing the momentum."
Terrance McGhee led Bears with 31 points and Andrew Alleyne hit 26.
