The Brighton music scene, apparently unstoppable a few years ago, seems to have lost a little momentum of late - there may be more bands here than ever, but there's been a definite (if hopefully temporary) drop in the number receiving nationwide attention.
Bucking the trend, however, are Brakes, who've been winning hordes of fans around the country and as far afield as Australia, Malaysia, Spain and France.
The Brighton "supergroup" comprises Tom and Alex from Electric Soft Parade, Mark from The Tenderfoot and, at the helm, Eamon from British Sea Power - proving his talents extend beyond the banging a large drum.
Singles from their debut album Give Blood, released this summer, haven't been the most commercial choices - Pick Up the Phone, for instance, was less than 30 seconds in length - but new single Ring A Ding Ding should set the charts aflame.
Don't miss the superb Chris T-T in support, performing tracks from his forthcoming folk protest album 9 Red Songs.
Starts 8pm, tickets cost £6 plus booking fee. Call 01273 673311
