Chef Charita Jones is back and serving up soul food following a fire which almost wrecked her restaurant causing thousands of pounds of damage.
The celebrity restaurateur from Momma Cherri's in Little East Street, Brighton, who was made famous after she appeared on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, served a full house last night just days after a blaze ripped through the building.
Mrs Jones believed she would have to closed for months after arriving outside the restaurant last Friday to find firefighters battling flames in the second-floor offices.
But four days later and with the help of family, staff, neighbours and some very patient customers, Momma Cherri's is back in business and booked up until the New Year.
Mrs Jones, 50, said: "I was quite calm but the minute I came out of the car park and saw the restaurant it was a nightmare, all I could see was black smoke.
"But all of our neighbours helped us out and we are going to get back up to speed and we are fully booked and serving."
