A mother who survived a car crash which killed her partner and two daughters was last night being consoled.
Amanda Hassell and her 17-year-old daughter walked away from the horrific head-on smash on the A264 at Bewbush, near Crawley, on Saturday.
But driver Theodorius Lubbe, known as Dick, aged 44, Rebecca Hassell, 15, and Lucy Hassell, 12, were killed.
The three victims were named by Sussex Police yesterday. The family home in Blackboy Lane in the village of Fishbourne, near Chichester, was empty last night.
Mrs Hassell and her daughter were understood to be staying with neighbours.
The girls' father Timothy asked for privacy.
A 31-year-old man from Crawley was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was released on bail.
