As a football supporter and resident of Brighton, I value the Albion very highly and appreciate the wide benefits the club brings to our community.
However, the continuing Falmer campaign, while once understandably misguided, is now verging on the obsessive.
Following the continued political manoeuvring by John Prescott and the club's financial plight, I suggest the board reconsiders the advice of its legal and planning advisers and divert efforts and financial resources into finding a more suitable, less controversial location for a new stadium.
I believe a change in direction, together with a well thought out plan for a new venue, would find the necessary political support.
Together with many other residents of Brighton who wish to see the football club develop and prosper, I whole-heartedly support the board's desire to secure a new site but inevitably this will not be Falmer.
