I am fed up with the amount of money Brighton and Hove City Council has spent on trying to get the public to recycle more.
In case you have missed it, the campaign is plastered on most of the city's buses and, in a recent article in City News, the council blows its own trumpet about raising recycling from 15.6 per cent to 24.3 per cent.
I have been recycling from my address for the past year, with only a few minor hiccups regarding non-collection by Cityclean.
A few weeks ago, the recycling boxes were once again not emptied. When I contacted Cityclean to ask why, I was told that because I live in a block of flats, I was not supposed to have this service and they would no longer collect my recycling from me.
Where I live has been assessed for a communal recycling area but they do not give an actual date for when this will start.
I have been recycling for some time now but they have turned me into the sort of person who can now no longer be bothered to do so.
I doubt I am on my own in this matter because speaking to other people about Cityclean certainly sparks some interesting discussions.
