I would like to reply to Reg Jenkins' letter "Ask the people".

There was a public consultation at the King Alfred a few years back when three different designs were on show and people were asked to vote for their favourite.

I (and presumably a few others) voted for the Karis design, which has now been modified but is still closely related to the original.

I was happy to live near the tall towers originally proposed and would have loved the winter garden aspect of the development - it's a shame it was watered down to the current plans which the Nimbys are moaning about.
