Leon Knight revealed today he wants to pledge his long-term future to Albion.

Top scorer Knight is keen to settle down with the Seagulls after an encouraging start in the Championship.

The former Chelsea striker has bounced back after scoring only four goals last season and picking up ten bookings.

He has already found the net three times and the maturing marksman has been staying out of trouble with referees.

Knight, who signed a one-year contract in the summer, said: "I'm 23 now. You have got to be looking to settle somewhere and I think this really could be the place.

"I'd love to stay here. I want to try to stay as long as possible and go as far as possible with Brighton.

"Hopefully we will get our stadium and we can just move on from there."

Manager Mark McGhee made Knight captain for Albion's Carling Cup tie at Shrewsbury in August.

"It opened my eyes to things," he said.

"You look at Charlie (Oatway) and those sort of players who have been here for a long time and served their time here well.

"Maybe I can be like that. I didn't really see myself as that type, because I've got a big mouth. I'm always talking.

"But I think the manager has picked out that I do give the younger players like Albert (Jarrett) and Colin (Kazim-Richards) advice, even if it is with a bit of abuse sometimes."
