A drag queen is taking her act from gay clubs to the silver screen with a role in a major Hollywood movie.
Classically trained Stephanie Starlet started performing on the Brighton gay scene when he was 21.
For his first drag act, he played a robot stripper from outer space who would drench the audience by slinging water-filled fake breasts at them.
Now he has a role in the Disney-backed film Kinky Boots, about a family-owned shoe factory that starts making boots for cross dressers when its traditional business dries up.
The film was shot at London Zoo in January and on location in Soho. Stephanie plays a leather and fishnet tights-clad waitress in a gay bar, filmed at the Raymond Revue Bar in Soho.
On Tuesday he went to the world premiere in London's Leicester Square, taking Brighton drag queens Diva Bliss and Cookie with him.
He said: "It was fabulous and we had a lot of fun with the stars. I think we were the only drag queens allowed at the premiere.
"The film has had really mixed reviews but it's fantastic - it's going to be huge.
"It's a feel-good movie without a doubt but where it's coming from politically is great."
During production, Cookie would drive Stephanie and Diva Bliss to the film set.
He said: "Filming was great but I had to get up very early and travel from Brighton to London while it was still dark and it's horrendous aving to put make up on before the sun comes up."
Stephanie has already been headhunted for his next movie, an Affinity Pictures film to be set in Brighton and Eastbourne.
He said: "I play the transsexual brother of the lead character who has a fetish about feet, so it's quite similar to Kinky Boots. I seem destined to play drag queens in films about feet and shoes."
Stephanie is doing a lot of work on television and has already appeared live on CBBC's Dick and Dom In Da Bungalow, bursting out of a wardrobe and singing Shirley Bassey's Hey Big Spender to the hosts.
Next year, he plans to film a show called Wish You Were Queer where he will take straight couples on gay-only holidays. Brighton actor Joe McGann will co-present.
Kinky Boots goes on general release on Friday, October 7.
