Black and white will be a literary festival's theme this year.
The tenth Lewes Live Literature Festival is on between October 26 and 31 and will showcase a celebration of the spoken word, performance, film and the visual arts.
Highlights include The Black and White Impro Show from legendary performer Ken Campbell, Black Box White Box from poet John Agard and an insight on Jimi Hendrix courtesy of writer Charles Shaar Murray.
Writers Hilary Mantel, Emma Richler and Kitty Fitzgerald will explore black humour and there will be the rare chance to hear Glasgow poet Tom Leonard.
Musical performances include Sengalese kora player Seckou Keita and the Mexican musician Gibran Cervantes.
There will also be performances especially for children.
Most events will be at Pelham House, St Andrews Lane, Lewes, and tickets will be available until October 28 on 01273 480218, after which they will be available on the door.
