I am writing in reply to the letter from the lady in Woodingdean regarding the smashing up of the phone and bus shelters there.
She asked if anyone had seen these people. Of course we've see them. There are gangs of girls and boys who walk along Warren Road between 10.15pm and 10.30pm.
They have huge lumps of concrete and think it's great to smash the glass. I report it every week to the telephone company, who are glad to come out and fix it as the man says: "It keeps me in a job".
I have tried to contact the police but they do not want to know and if you approach the gangs, you get stones thrown at your own window.
I live alone, am disabled and am scared stiff of these youths.
In fact, I dare not even look out the window until they have gone because I know they will throw stones, call me names and swear.
There is nothing I can do except clean up after them. If they were caught, what would they get? The latest must-have - an ASBO.
The kids think it's great to get one of them and regularly boast about it outside my window.
There are no police in Woodingdean and by the time they do get here, the kids have gone.
So in answer to the lady who says somebody must see them, yes, we do but there is no way I will be tackling them.
