I am writing to say a big thank you to the staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Sick Children in Brighton.
My three-year-old son, Lucas, had a hernia operation there on Wednesday and is now back at home playing with his toys.
I was told by a consultant last Friday we would have to wait three months for his surgery and this Tuesday, only four days later we were called up and asked to bring him in on Wednesday.
Of course, we jumped at the chance because if we had had to wait three months, our anxieties would have multiplied.
The staff at the Blanche ward made Lucas feel really welcome and he enjoyed his day there more than he would have a day at Disneyland!
They made him feel so special and proud of his wound and bandage. The surgeons and anaesthetist were very professional and informative.
I think the NHS rocks! Having spent time working in other countries around the world, I think we are pretty lucky in the UK with our health care.
