I read with great admiration the story of Private Robert Birt who has quite rightly won praise for bravely helping drag his colleagues to safety during some of the most dramatic scenes of the Iraq war so far (The Argus, September 23).
Having seen the pictures of the soldiers stumbling out of a Warrior tank, I am amazed they managed to get out alive.
These pictures made headlines all over the world and the soldiers inside the vehicle getting out alive, although on fire, was miraculous.
