With reference to your headline "Ferry safety worries" relating to the ferries Dieppe and Sardinia Vera (The Argus, September 22), I would like to make my own comments.
I am a frequent traveller with Transmanche Ferries on both Sardinia Vera and Dieppe and I have the highest regard for their safety measures and smooth running operations.
No ships leave port if there is the slightest suggestion of a problem and every effort is made to ensure safety and comfort for passengers.
Last Tuesday, my wife and I waited on the quayside in Dieppe along with all other vehicles, for a further 30 minutes while a lift was being serviced which was essential prior to the ferry Dieppe sailing.
No time was lost in loading as the captain himself was supervising, the crew and shore staff were a great help and very polite.
I am a very satisfied Transmanche traveller.
