Bosses at the Bowlplex leisure centre in Brighton were congratulating themselves today after securing the rights to launch Sega's hotly-anticipated new arcade game.
The entertainments complex at the Marina was the first in the UK to install World Championship Club Football (WCCF) following negotiations with the Japanese computer games giant.
WCCF is one of the biggest titles to come out of Japan in decades and is already massively popular in the Far East and Italy where it was first launched in 2002.
The concept of WCCF is based on Panini collectable trading cards of top footballers from around the world where players have to build the perfect team.
Bowlplex manager, Tim Williams, said: "We have worked exceptionally hard to secure this feature and achieved this due to the nature of our operation, the location of this site and the relationship that has been forged with Sega over the years. We beat some of the biggest names in leisure to get this superb game."
