I welcome Nigel Furness's comments (Letters, September 19) regarding the "entertaining cacophony" raised by other societies on the subject of the
King Alfred site.
Up to this point that is exactly what it is.
Equally entertaining are his references to ding-dong squeaks and the lack of opinion from the Hove Civic Society.
If he had bothered to contact us, he would have been aware that we have been working quietly in the background and believe that grounded comments and suggestions are better received and often acted upon than overblown rhetoric which changes nothing.
Now, when the plans are in the public forum, is the time to assess details, gather comments and work on balanced objections which may still influence the outcome to a massive development.
Make up your mind, Mr Furness - squeaks or a considered opinion.
