As a former Hove councillor on Brighton and Hove City Council (art, recreations and tourism), I have always stood up for innovative and unique designs which will benefit our city's aesthetic culture.
I welcome Frank Gehry's design for the part which is designated to house the community sporting facilities but as for the rest of the design, I would expect any of our city's sixth-form colleges' arts faculties to come up with a better one.
If the Green party has any serious ambitions to help Hove's environment, it must throw out this ugly concrete hell.
The people of Hove will never forgive the council if a mistake of such gigantic proportions is built.
The community of Hove must have their say and this should be seriously taken into account in the form of a binding referendum.
