Last year all the bands emerging from the Libertines scene were lumped together.
Now, most have established their identities and marked out their own territory.
Rising to the top of the pile, The Paddingtons have turned heads with their vicious, hi-energy rock 'n' roll sound, pure pop songs, good looks and incendiary live shows.
They hail from Hull, East Yorks, which has been saddled with a grim reputation.
Wanting more, they broke away and now have an ever-growing army of fans including many other musicians and celebs.
They have this year been championed by Hedi Slimane, head designer at Dior, who photographed them for the influential French daily Liberation and Andy Warhol's legendary Interview magazine in the US.
He then invited them to play in Paris to celebrate his birthday and his new fashion collection. Not bad for a band whose hometown is number one in The Idlers Book of Crap Towns.
Debut album First Comes First was recorded near Hastings and is out on October 24.
Starts 7.30pm, tickets cost £8. Call 01273 673311.
