A crime-busting scheme first trialled in Sussex has inspired 12 other towns to launch similar projects.
The Eastbourne Business Crime Group (EBCG) was formed two years ago to cut antisocial behaviour and all types of business crime.
Since then the group has expanded rapidly, with more than 130 retailers, hotels and other companies now members.
They have the power to ban prolific offenders from all businesses that are part of the police and council-backed initiative.
The scheme also offers incentives including access to photographs of offenders to alert other members of their movements.
Members can also gain criminal activity intelligence, staff training on conflict management and regular newsletters.
The results have been startling, with crime against members being cut to zero.
Now 12 similar schemes are set to be rolled out in places including Oxford, Bond Street, Colchester, Lambeth and Streatham.
