A charming and delightful show based on Hans Christian Anderson's fairytale, The Nightingale, was worth seeing for the visual effects alone.
There was innovative dancing, exciting projections using puppets and colourful costumes.
This was a British Asian production appreciating the simple sound of the nightingale.
Sometimes it was disturbing as characters rushed across the stage as if engaged in a bloody battle, while at other times it was sad and poignant.
There were acrobatic movements, beautiful scenes bathed in soft lights and also audience participation.
All credit to Yellow Earth Theatre, the six-strong team of actors and the creative team behind the show.
It ended in a finale with petals falling on to the stage and the audience wanting to know more about the work of Hans Christian Anderson.
