I read your article concerning Brighton and Hove Citizens' Advice Bureau joining forces with Inland Revenue to make people aware they may be entitled to tax credits etc (The Argus, September 15).
It would be a better idea if the Inland Revenue sorted out the mess it has created with tax credit overpayments.
People like myself applied for these "credits", filled in all relevant paperwork and were granted them only to receive notification there had been an overpayment.
The credits were stopped immediately and I was left without vital funds and have suffered hardship because of it.
I have protested, made a complaint and written to the manager but all to no avail. Now the crowning glory was to receive, from the same office, a reminder to complete my tax credit claim forms for the "on-coming years".
What a shambles. Why don't they sort it out?
