What has happened to all the white shelled eggs? In my younger days, we had a chicken run, or in modern-day terminology, we had free range hens.
The brown hens laid brown-shelled eggs and the white hens laid white-shelled eggs.
Recently, I bought six eggs from a farmers market in George Street, Hove. They were of various colours as they should be.
However, all the non free-range eggs which you buy in supermarkets are of a dark brown colour?
From clips of battery farms I have seen on TV, the hens are certainly not all brown. In fact, more the opposite. That makes me curious as to what they are being fed which would make all the eggs brown.
