Mark McGhee wants Albion to be more ruthless in front of goal to turn from draw specialists into winners.

The Seagulls survived in the Championship at the end of last season with a flurry of draws.

The trend has continued so far this season, with five draws in nine matches, although McGhee's team are now playing in a much more attacking style.

"You would hope if we keep performing the way we are then wins will come." he said.

"The level of performance is fine in many ways but we're still not taking as many chances as we would like.

"That is where we have got to find improvement, to convert the good play and chances we are making into goals."

McGhee admits he would settle for another point on Saturday at next-to-bottom Burnley, where Albion drew 1-1 towards the end of last season.

"Every point we get is a point towards staying up and against these teams it is very important, so I would take that," he said.

"I think maybe also if we do get a lead we should think about shutting up shop and not worry about making more chances and being entertaining.

"We are considering that as well. The problem with that is if they then get an equaliser you put yourself on the back foot."

Albion's match at Sheffield Wednesday next month has been put back 48 hours to October 24.
