I was most interested to read in The Argus supplement, This Is Brighton (September 16), about the Duke Of York's 95th anniversary.
It is wonderful that the picture house survived two world wars and setbacks when so many other cinemas were either demolished or turned into bingo halls.
Two years ago, I was privileged to be in a short film in connection with a meeting I had with Richard Todd in 1977 at the Theatre Royal in Brighton, which was screened at the Duke Of York's.
I hope this fine picture house stays open for many more years.
