Many thanks to The Argus for taking up the case of Omar Deghayes, the Saltdean man who has been incarcerated in solitary confinement in Guantanamo Bay for more than three years.
It is outrageous that the British Government will take no responsibility for Omar because he has refugee status. It says Libya - the very country from which he fled in 1986 - should help him.
As an eight-year-old pointed out to me, shouldn't we help people even if they weren't born in this country?
Since the Labour Party is holding its conference in Brighton next week, let's use the opportunity to raise Omar's case.
Please join supporters of the Save Omar Campaign and Sussex Action for Peace at a protest on Sunday at 4pm outside the Brighton Centre.
