Worthing were left frustrated after drawing 0-0 with Walton and Hersham in the Ryman premier division.

The Rebels did everything but score against a team just two places below them in the table.

But joint manager Danny Bloor was not too upset.

Bloor, whose side had won 2-1 at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, said: "If someone had said to us on Friday we would take four points from these two games we would have said thank you very much.

"We should have won this game comfortably but we are not downbeat. We had a fantastic result on Saturday and if this had been a boxing match it would have been stopped."

Worthing were forced into two changes from Saturday's line-up as striker Richard Pacquette failed a fitness test while Shaun Grice suffered a broken jaw at Wimbledon and will be out for six weeks.

The experienced Lee Charles came in for his first start of the season and Sam Francis replaced Pacquetted in attack.

It was Francis who had the best chance of the night ten minutes from time.

Man-of-the-match Andy Lutwyche crossed from the right but Francis failed to hit the target with a header.

Worthing had chances galore throughout but could find no way past visiting keeper Nick Ginder.

At the other end, Rebels keeper Mark Ormerod was virtually a spectator, not having to make a save all evening.

The result dropped Worthing two places to sixth but still just two points off third-placed Fisher Athletic.
