I totally agree with TM Bailey's letter (September 14) regarding the barriers on Hove seafront.
My mother, who is 85, was unable to get through on her electric scooter because the barriers had been pushed together leaving just a small gap.
Fortunately, a kind gentleman moved the barrier allowing her to get through.
Twenty minutes later the same thing happened when she tried to get back through the barrier as it had been closed again with a tiny gap.
What was Brighton and Hove City Council thinking of when it erected this stupid barrier?
Next they'll be charging us to walk there!
Does the council really believe the people it's meant to stop (cyclists) would take any notice of the barriers? I think not.
