My attention was caught by plans to divert the Volks Railway to provide space for a sports facility at the Peter Pan playground.
The legacy of Magnus Volk to Brighton - his creative engineering - has been neglected and I would like to make the following suggestions:
When plans were published for the vacant Black Rock pool site, an idea was put forward to extend the Volks Railway to the Marina. Mr Volk would have leapt at the challenge.
Isn't it also about time the track from the Palace Pier to the present western terminus was reinstated?
Finally, whatever happened to Volks pole-and-ball clock at the Brighton clocktower?
It seems years ago we were told the clock was being repaired.
Practical problems? Magnus Volk would have found solutions.
