Two separate developments have received Civic Trust commendations.
Horsham District Council and Price and Myers Structural Engineers received certificates at a ceremony last week.
The council won its prize for the redevelopment of Horsham town centre, which judges said had created "enjoyable, safe and well-connected spaces."
The other scheme commended by the trust was the Meadow project by Price and Myers at the Roffey Park Institute in Forest Road, Horsham.
It consisted of a new management training college linked to a seminar building, restaurant and events space.
The awards were announced last April by the Civic Trust.
The organisations' awards recognise the best in architecture and urban design.
They are awarded to projects of high-quality design but only if they are also judged to have made a positive contribution to the local environment and helped improve places where people live.
