I concur entirely with Terry Meakin's complaints about last Sunday's motorbike rally in Brighton (Letters, September 13).
I would also go one step further in querying the value of such a rally to the city.
In addition to the parking problems, the inhabitants of Kemp Town seafront were subjected to about eight hours of non-stop pollution (noise and fumes) as the riders strutted their stuff.
This is unacceptable, even allowing for any potential economic justification.
It would be interesting to know whether local shopkeepers do gain financially from this onslaught, or was it mostly a come-look-leave biker visitation.
Should this event be held again next year, I will make sure I am not around.
