In response to Matt Pearson (Letters, September 7) I have to say as a motorist, the number of times I have seen cyclists pull out at junctions, cut across traffic with no hand signals, use dedicated bus lanes or fail to show any kind of consideration for other road users disgusts me.
Cyclists can be a liability and a nuisance when they show no consideration for other road users. Maybe it is time cyclists should be tested, licensed and made to have insurance, just like other road users.
In the event the cyclist is proved to be at fault in the event of a collision, at least the motorist can have some recompense for the damage caused to their vehicle.
