Anyone who drives knows the biggest challenge facing the motorist is finding a place to park and every inch of space must be made use of but some parking I recently came across was a little too close for comfort.
Back home from my parking encounter, I was curious to find out what my 1960 Oxford dictionary had to say. But to my amazement the word parking was not in there.
Four decades ago, of course, the problem of where to park was in its infancy. How things have changed in the intervening years.
